Just finished a Writer’s Digest University intensive with a literary agent who reviewed the first 10 pages of my novel. Wow, what a confidence boost. The agent’s feedback was encouraging and insightful, and I turned around a rewrite within 48 hours. Even better, she offered a second round of comments that put me in a great place to keep moving forward.
My strengths are in plotline and characters who are empathetic and interesting. What I need to work on? Letting my characters simmer longer. Coming from a journalism background, I’m used to synthesizing and distilling a lot of information quickly. Novel writing feels like the luxury of space and time - a chance to breathe, to go deeper, to let things unfold.
Feeling energized and grateful for this step forward.
